Campus
At the Balaban Center for Service Dog Excellence there is a fully accessible 5,000
square foot state-of-the-art kennel building completed in January 2010.
The building includes 12 kennels to house 24 dogs in advanced training. The kennel has
radiant heat in the floors, individual covered runs, lots of natural light, a state-of-the-art
waste disposal system, and an advanced air circulation system. In addition, the building
houses:
The 18 acre property also features a large indoor riding ring currently used for events and
training, two large grassy play areas, and two small play areas for puppies.
The Saint Francis kennel manager lives on site to care for the dogs housed in the kennel.
Saint Francis Memorial Garden
Saint Francis Service Dogs is founded on the idea that the human-animal bond can be
deeply enriching for both human and animal. The bond a person shares with their
assistance dog is undoubtedly a special one, however there are many, many people who
also experience the richness of a strong bond with their pets.
The Luke Woody Memorial Garden at Saint Francis is being developed as a place to
celebrate and memorialize all human-animal bonds. The Garden will provide a peaceful,
contemplative environment in which to mourn the loss of loved ones and honor their
memory.
Click Here to view the master concept plan for the garden, slated to open in October,
2012. If you are interested in honoring a loved one by supporting the garden, please
