Saint Francis of Assisi Service Dog Foundation is seeking motivated dog trainers to assume contract dog training positions as Field Trainers.

Dogs enter the training program at approximately 12-15 months months and live in the homes of Field Trainers. Saint Francis of Assisi Service Dog Foundation also employs Staff Trainers who train a string of dogs at the Saint Francis of Assisi Service Dog Center. As our Center and services expand, other Staff Trainers will be hired.

Field trainers are responsible for teaching basic service dog task work or hearing work, attend public demonstrations and weekly training classes. Field trainers are also responsible for recipient matching and travel to and from recipients' homes throughout Virginia. Obedience experience is required for Saint Francis of Assisi Service Dog Foundation training and service dog training experience is preferred.
